Education at London Town

Why Visit London Town?

London Town offers many interdisciplinary opportunities for study beyond the classroom for both children and adults. The William Brown House is a fine example of Georgian architecture and it is the last visible remnant of the once bustling seaport of London Town. Ongoing archaeological digs are being conducted by Anne Arundel County archaeologists from the Lost Towns Project. Eight acres of woodland gardens, featuring both native and exotic plants, thrive in London Town's Tidewater setting.

Students will visit the excavation sites and participate in artifact analysis and screening. Although archaeology at London Town fits in will with the sixth grade curriculum of ancient and native cultures, it is open to grades four through eight as well. (Wednesdays only).

Science in the Garden

London Town is also home to the eight acre Woodland Garden which features native and exotic plant species. The current education program is offered to grades three through five.
